Whatever it Takes

Are you really in control of your life? The fact is, only about three or four people in one-hundred are considered to be in control. Want to know how they do it? Want to be among them?

You can change anything you want about your life, and you can do it in an instant. All you have to do is understand how to do what you already know.

If you think about it, most of your days are actually quite similar. You wake up, eat the same familiar food, go to the same familiar place of work, associate with the same familiar people, think the same familiar thoughts, and follow the same familiar rituals…day in and day out. So if you expect things to change you’ve got to find a way to break away from the things that keep you from making that change.

“You can never change things by fighting your existing reality. To change something you must build a new model that makes the existing model obsolete.”
 Buckminster Fuller

It’s Time for a Change

If what you’re doing is not producing the effects on your life you truly desire, then it’s time for you to change it. If you really want something different you must do whatever it takes to obtain it, to achieve it, and to own it.

“If you want something different you must do something different.” ~ G. Westfal

Take an honest look at the results you’re getting in life. Chances are, there are some areas you’d like to improve. It’s good to assess your results and to ask yourself some serious questions about where you are versus where you’d like to be.

Here are the basics: To go someplace new you have to know where you are, where you’re going, and what you’re willing to do about getting there.
If you don’t know exactly what you want or where you want to go, you’re not going to achieve much (at best), and you’re likely to get lost in the misery of the status quo as you continue to sit around wondering why your life isn’t moving forward like everyone else’s. Hello? Are you still listening? Great! Then get off the couch and let’s move!

The only way you’re going to escape the life you have to the life you want is to be totally honest about where you are and to acknowledge that you created it.

Take a good look at where you are. That’s your starting point, so whether you like it or not, you own it, you created it, and you are the only one who can change it. The good news is that you can change it if…you’re willing to do whatever it takes.

Accepting full responsibility sets you up for the last, and in my humble opinion, the most exciting part where you get to decide what you’re going to actually do about changing things.

Clarity is Power

You must define WHAT you want your life to advance toward and WHY you want it. The HOW will obediently follow and take its place inside the formula you create as you build your new life model and replace the old, worn-out, obsolete version.
What do you want? Answer that question in your mind right now. Be honest and be specific. Become so strongly aligned with it that it affects your body, your mind, your relationships, and your life. Until you are able to answer that question with conviction then you’re not going to be as fulfilled as you hope to be.

Most everyone knows how to do a better job. That’s not the problem. The problem is we’re not doing what we know how to do. We get distracted easily, put things off for a “better time”, make excuses, and subjugate our dreams to other “higher priorities”, all the time wondering why other people are so fortunate, successful, or “lucky”.

Clarity is power. The clearer you are about exactly what you want the more your brain will know exactly how you’re going to get there. When you condition your mind, it knows exactly what to do and it’ll find a way to get there. Your sole responsibility at that point is to follow its leading with action

Life will bring you exactly what you ask of it, so expect what it is you’re asking for. Become so familiar with it that you immediately recognize it when you see it. Then…act on it!

As Simple as a Decision

Assuming you keep up your present habits and rituals and keep up the present pace you’re on, where will you be in 3 to 5 years? Admittedly, there are some people who have difficulty wrapping their mind around the whole 3- to 5-year concept. But what if I told you there is a way that you could see immediate change? Would that grab your attention? Well, it’s not as far-fetched as it may seem.

You can experience immediate and significant changes in your life with something as simple as a decision. A decision changes the mind by arming it with a determined discipline that can take you to the forefront of an entirely new life experience.
A decision brings about disciplines in you that compound on each other as you form new habits and rituals that will take you to your goals. As this change takes hold of your inner self you’ll know it in an instant. This kind of change is transformative.
Make a decision today to BE THE CHANGE you need in your life. Do whatever it takes. After all, it’s your life.

Until next time…
