As a lifelong writer, I’ve always found solace and expression in the written word. The rhythm of sentences, the dance of dialogue, and the power of narrative have been my companions for as long as I can remember. However, after publishing five books, I felt a compelling urge to rediscover my artistic side.
The Call of Creativity
The transition from writing to art wasn’t something I had planned; rather, it was a natural decision driven by a an answer to a calling and a desire to express my creativity in a different medium. I found myself increasingly drawn to the possibilities of what is possible, which seemed to offer a new language for my emotions and ideas.
Embracing the Unknown
One of the most exciting aspects of this transition has been embracing the unknown. As a writer, I was accustomed to crafting stories with a clear beginning, middle, and end. However, with art, there are no strict rules or formulas. A blank canvas is an opportunity filled with possibilities, allowing me to explore abstract concepts and emotions without the constraints of the structure of a manuscript. There’s a liberating freedom that has encouraged me to experiment with different styles and techniques.
Finding My Voice
As I step deeper into the creative process, I continue to discover my own artistic style. Much like writing, art has a deeply personal expression that may or may not resonate with others. And that’s ok because as an artist – much the same as an author – there are those will will resonate with your creation and there are those who won’t.
Each of my creations are an offering to my higher power and a channel to my creative spirit.
